The Arctic Archive is an ever-expanding collection of everyday ‘snapshots’ showcasing the visual and material artifacts associated with the seemingly endless amount of ‘Arctic business’, ‘Arctic services’ and ‘Arctic products’ found in Tromsø, Norway, and worldwide today. This ranges from Arctic asphalt, Arctic campers, and Arctic plumbers, to Arctic universities, Arctic symphony orchestras, and Arctic arts festivals.

The Arctic Archive invites everyone to actively contribute images (and possibly objects) to the archive, both locally and internationally. There are ongoing plans for a comprehensive presentation of the archive in a museum context in the future, setting the stage for a more expansive exploration and understanding of the diverse factors that make up the comptemporary Arctic, its commercial ventures, and its cultural expressions.
